Answers from your business spreadsheets, for small business owners

By the Analistable team · Updated · 2 min read

If you own a small business, your numbers live in several exports: sales from the till or online shop, payouts from Stripe, Square or PayPal, the bank statement and an invoice list. The useful questions—who stopped buying, what was paid, which product sells—need two or more of those files at once. This page shows where to begin.

Questions that need more than one file

Common owner questions and the files behind them
QuestionFilesJoin key
Did every sale get paid out?Shop orders + payment provider payoutsOrder or charge ID
Who are my unpaid customers?Invoice list + bank statementInvoice number or amount
Which customers stopped ordering?Last quarter's orders + this quarter'sCustomer email
Is this supplier's new price list higher?Old price list + new price listProduct code
How are sales trending?Monthly sales exportsStacked by month

Each answer is a comparison between files. In Excel that usually means a lookup formula, cleaned-up IDs and a pivot table. That is fine once, but tiring to repeat every month.

How Analistable helps

You load the files (or connect a Google Sheet) and type the question as you would ask your accountant. Analistable finds the shared column, writes the query and shows a table you can check. If the answer looks wrong, the query is visible and you can ask a follow-up, such as "only include orders over £50".

  • No formulas to write or maintain.
  • Your data is processed in your browser, not stored on our servers.
  • Nothing is written back to your shop, bank or accounting app.

If you only need to stack a few files into one, the free combine Excel files tool does that without an account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know Excel well?
No. You need to know which files hold the answer. Analistable writes the query; checking that the result makes sense is still your job.
Can I use Google Sheets instead of Excel files?
Yes. You can connect Google Sheets, or load Excel and CSV files, and mix them in one model.
Is my sales data shared with anyone?
Rows stay in your browser. The AI sees column names and, only if you allow it, a few sample values to write the query.
